グループ展「のるかそるか」で展示された作品『It’s just there』は、普段何気なく目にしている風景が、実は光によって映し出されたイメージであるという気づきから着想を得たものです。私は趣味でミラーレス一眼レフカメラを使って風景写真を撮影してきました。中でも特に星や朝焼けの撮影を好んでいたため、いつしか光に対して一種の執着やこだわりを感じるようになっていました。こうした背景から、本作品ではカメラやその他の撮影機材を使わず、レーザー光と感光紙を用いることで、純粋に光そのものを記録することに重点を置き、人間が「光」そのものを見るプロセスと作品の表現との一貫性を追求しました。作品のタイトルについてですが、「It’s just there」と名付けたのは、他の「物体」を通じて自らの存在を主張する「光」が、まるで生き物のように感じられるのと同様に、鑑賞者にも目の前の「光」の存在をどのよ うに捉えているのかを考えてもらいたいからです。それは、人が他者を通じて自らの存在を確認するのと同じ感覚のようなものと考えています。

The work “It’s just there” exhibited in “Noruka Soroka” was inspired by the realization that the scenery we usually see without a second thought is, in fact, an image reflected by light. My background is that I have been taking landscape photographs using a mirrorless single-lens reflex camera as a hobby. Among these, I particularly preferred taking pictures of stars and morning sunsets, and so, without realizing it, I began to feel a kind of obsession or preoccupation with light. With this background, for this work, I aimed to simply capture a pure record of light without using a camera

or other photographic equipment, and I focused on the consistency between the process of humans seeing “light” itself and the expression of the work. As for the title of the work, I named it “It’s just there” because I would like viewers to think about how they perceive the existence of the “light” in front of them, just as “light,” that asserts its own existence using other “objects,” feels like a living organism to me, just as people confirm their own existence through other people.
